PRIVACY NOTICE & COOKIE POLICY

Effective date: 1 August 2026  |  Applies to: www.medsalesrep.co.za

This website is operated by Masoom Training Solutions (“we”, “us”), a QCTO-accredited training provider and assessment centre and the “responsible party” for the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

1. What personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that you choose to submit through the forms on this website:

  • Learner pre-qualification form: your answers to the screening questions used to determine whether you meet the minimum entrance requirements for the Health Products Sales Representative learnership.
  • Learner application form: your title and full names (including maiden name where applicable), telephone and cellphone numbers, email address, residential and postal addresses, date of birth, South African ID number, driver’s licence status, home language, gender, race, disability status, socioeconomic/employment status, tertiary qualifications, and the names and contact details of two references.
  • Company participation form: the company name, the name of a contact person, telephone and cellphone numbers, an email address, employment figures, BBBEE-related information, divisions of interest and your reason for interest in the learnership.
  • Sponsorship form: similar company and contact information for prospective sponsors.

Some of this information — in particular your race, disability status and other demographic details — constitutes special personal information under POPIA. We collect it only because it is required for the administration and statutory reporting of a QCTO-registered learnership programme (including B-BBEE and skills-development reporting), and we use it for no other purpose. Your ID number is used to verify your identity and register you for the qualification.

References: if you supply the names and contact details of references, please make sure they are aware of and agree to you sharing their details with us; we will use their information solely to verify your application.

2. Why we collect it

  • To assess learner eligibility for the learnership programme;
  • To register and administer the participation of companies and sponsors;
  • To communicate with you about your application or enquiry;
  • To meet the reporting requirements of the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and other statutory bodies in respect of the learnership.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unrelated to the learnership programme.

3. Who we share it with

Information may be shared, only to the extent necessary, with the QCTO and other relevant statutory bodies, and with the participating employers involved in placing learners, and with service providers who host this website and its database. We require all of these parties to protect your information.

4. How long we keep it

We keep application information for as long as necessary to administer the learnership programme and to comply with legal and SETA record-keeping requirements, after which it is deleted.

5. Security

Information submitted through this website is stored in a secured database. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it against loss, unauthorised access, or disclosure.

6. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

  • request access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction or deletion of your personal information;
  • object to the processing of your personal information;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, email POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. This website uses them as follows:

  • Essential cookies — strictly necessary for the website to function (for example a session cookie set by the server when you submit a form, and the small record of your cookie choice itself). These do not require consent.
  • Analytics cookies (optional) — Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) that help us understand how visitors use the site. These are only set after you choose “accept all cookies” in the privacy pop-up. If you choose “essential cookies only”, they are not set, and any previously set analytics cookies are removed.

You can change your cookie choice at any time by clicking the “Cookie settings” button in the bottom-left corner of any page, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser. You can also instruct your browser to refuse all cookies, although some parts of the site may then not work.
